The Hireling sees the trouble for the sheep coming and flees when they get in distress they are left to fend for themselves and didn't fight off the mischief and pain caused by the wolf...

SEE JESUS PUT FOR YOU TO SEEK OUT AND SO YOU WOULD KNOW THE PERFECT WAY...
19 There was a division therefore AGAIN among the Jews for these sayings.
AGAIN, they accuse Him of having a devil and is mad...because HE was preaching the TRUTH...
20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
Here they are again the Jews slanting to the fact and again accusing him that He is causing them to doubt...Nay! BUT TO ONLY SEE the TRUTH... He never made them DOUBT...but they are going to stick with their OLD stiff necked ways...
24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
Then Jesus States Plainly .... "I told you, and ye believed not" He didn't ignore them He answered them...
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, THEY BEAR WITNESS OF ME.
26 BUT YE BELIEVED NOT, because YE ARE NOT OF MY SHEEP, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them ETERNAL LIFE; and THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH, neither shall ANY man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE.
Again they Took up STONES to Stone Him for telling the TRUTH...
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
He asked them for WHICH "GOOD WORKS" do ye stone me?
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
He was GOD...but their blindness crucifies JESUS CHRIST their MESSIAH because HE Didn't come in the fashion as they perceived Him to do or TO BE...Since when does the Creator Bow the Creation...NO HE Didn't when HE WASHED their feet...it was a showing of LOVE with utter humility for the feet in the Jewish custom there is nothing lower...
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
YE ARE GODS?...a ponder...which is a person knows of good and evil, for after the serpent beguiled Eve, they saw good and evil...

2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Is how the perceived the blind, lame, mute, and more was a sin from them or from him...but God corrects...
3 Jesus answered, NEITHER hath this man sinned, NOR his parents: but THAT THE WORKS OF GOD should be made manifest IN him.

Now the Pharisees instead of being happy at the Miracle God Wrought, were ready to accuse kill due to their envy and intimidation of Jesus Christ...but It didn't Stop JESUS CHRIST...from Healing on the Sabbath DAY...it was a MUST to work the works of HIM that SENT HIM...yet though this man was naturally blind...they were really the ones blinded...
14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

He obeyed what God instructed...he went and washed...and didn't deter...

38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
For law was to stone her as was to their understandings of the Law...and some are in the like of Today which defies the Gospel of Christ and is Contrary to the Word of GOD...but the Promise of such is as a promise when it is Not His Word it is a false doctrine...
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
Honestly, they were plotting to see what he would do and see if they catch him in a fall but He is clear and is the Almighty God...YET what they are blind to is these FACTS who He is and What His understandings are...yet they are sooo blind such as this stands against ALL their INTENTIONS and PLOTTINGS etc because of this...The law of his God is in his heart; NONE OF HIS STEPS SHALL SLIDE. The are calling him a liar, out of their personal fear of losing their place and control of society...He came from His father...

HENCE HE CONFIRMS IN V18 AND STILL THEIR BLINDNESS AVAILS OVER THEIR MINDS...

It is why they Asked "Where is thy Father?"...for they Didn't know again this was JESUS CHRIST the MESSIAH standing before them...NOW think about IT, Here is JESUS Christ these men supposedly worship God yet they don't know HIM...NOW HOW frustrating would that be on a constant basis...everyday and everywhere He went in to places he went...speaking the truth but all seem blind except the ones that HE absolutely KNEW believed...There would be NO GREATER frustration with the level of Intelligence and more...but God is LOVE and the other one was always laughing in the crowd and in humans minds to distort the truth of His word to this day it happens...It didn't stop Him and He fulfilled his destiny...

43 WHY DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND MY SPEECH? even because ye cannot hear my word.

So now they are calling him a "Samaritan" one with which the Jews have no dealings with...and says he has a devil...NOW God created them to worship Him...they are talking to him thinking they are perfectly right and sound and they are going to Heaven once they get rid of this guy...as John 16 states...they think they are doing God a justice...by asking all these question and they don't like the TRUTH ONE BIT...for it breaks their perceptions of life as they know it...it forces them to deal with their own understandings...Jesus Challenges them without challenging them...then He tells the truth and that they DISHONOUR him WHO IS THEIR MESSIAH...then in V52 they declare HE has a DEVIL and affirm it...NOw they are looking at the GOD who created such as Lucifer and cast him out as so as I have thought as in Isaiah 14...and they have the audacity to tell him he has one of the fallen...Now who do you think their father is for it is a LIE...v44 .."for he is a liar, and the father of it."...Ya gotta study Him and know Him...Glory to the HIGHEST for He is perfect above ALL!!! Glory to GOD! Hallelujah! Amen! and Amen!
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

Now who are these JEWS telling the GREAT I AM...that they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he has a devil...they couldn't understand the idea of the New Covenant...which was the fulfilling of the Law the first covenant...whish is what v51 means...

NOW Jesus MOVES on and brings the WORDS so STRONG...and pays them literally no mind...Because HE THEN tells THEM what ABRAHAM did when HE SAW HIS DAY...they don't even know the father Abraham...and they get so stupid with their unbelief...and be foolish and demeaning in the natural facts and say as in v57...Then He says VERILY, VERILY, I say unto YOU, BEFORE AMBRAHAM WAS, I AM.

20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught IN THE TEMPLE: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
There is a time and place and cause for everything...YET HE SPAKE THESE TRUFUL WORDS IN THE TEMPLE WHERE THEY WORSHIPPED HIM...but they didn't know HIM...HENCE why He made the new Covenant...of the HOLY GHOST...see
21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and SHALL DIE IN YOUR SINS: whither I go, YE CANNOT COME.
22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
FOR ALL IS MADE OF THE DUST, man is woman from the rib of man...hence why we are from beneath..."Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: FOR IF YE BELIEVE NOT THAT I AM HE, ye shall die in your sins.
BECAUSE IF YOU BELIEVE HIM NOT...neither will you keep and obey His commandments...so you will die in your sins and be a child of perdition instead a child of salvation...which obeys all of John 3 as is evidence of Acts 2:38 to this day...Well all of ACTS 2...and strives to keep the Commandments as all the Leaders of the BIBLE did in the Old and the NEW...for God was manifest in the flesh and fulfilled the LAW...and BROUGHT LIFE and SALVATION NOT just to the Jews but to ALL that would WILLINGLY RECEIVE HIM...He was so big the Calendar came to zero...for it was a NEW DAY because HE DRANK THE CUP which the first Adam let it in the world...
25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
Genesis 1...yes that Beginning...This is God Talking NOT MAN...and though Jesus was God manifest in the flesh from a woman birthed into the world no sex as we no it did not occur for the Holy Ghost overshadowed Her and HIS WORD of CREATION which Created LIGHT spoke the very being into existence...not as a man can even perceives but He defied man in all of his egotistical ways...by this very act...for she was a virgin and pure in mind heart and soul...
26 I have MANY THINGS to say and to judge of you: but HE THAT SENT IS TRUE; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
DUE TO THEIR BLINDNESS AGAIN THEY COULDNT COMPREHEND FOR THEY DIDN'T SEEK OUT GOD'S HEART...FOR SUCH AS KING DAVID WAS A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART THEN IT WAS CLEAR...FOR KING David would have understood this as well as Asaph...to name a few...
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; BUT AS MY FATHER HATH TAUGHT ME, I SPEAK THESE THINGS.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
All of Jesus Christ words were never premeditated...the greatest commandment is simple and perfect for He gave an example of it when He said Follow me....
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, ((( IF ))) ye CONTINUE in MY word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye SHALL KNOW the truth, and the truth shall MAKE YOU FREE.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
So Once you know God is Jesus Christ and any other is a false God and you change not you are such as so...or do you heed to your forefathers ways...such as say avoid the whole book or chapter of 3...for it applies to ALL...which Acts 2 is the evidence and it still occurs to this day...Jesus Christ said beware less they teach one different...because Anything Different than that of Jesus Christ of 0-77 A.D. is a different one...what would Peter, Paul, Nicodemus, and the rest teach...they all taught the same...there is no other way...but they TURN FROM THEIR WICKEDNESS and SERVE JESUS CHRIST...SUCH AS THIS I Corinthians 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? 37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, BECAUSE MY WORD HATH NO PLACE IN YOU.
Think about that, for Jesus Christ came from such...see How blind they were...he did nothing wrong but told the TRUTH of the ways of life and addressed the thoughts of their minds...they didn't come up to him and say it...he heard them in their minds and with their backs turn...HE only called out the way of the DARK INTENTIONS which made them even more furious for they had no power against him...for they ONLY do that which they Understood of their fathers v38...they didn't really search the scriptures passed their understandings...though it would have been a fearful thing to do...but had they they would have known who He was...
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
So Blind of HIS LAW and more ... It is SOO strong JESUS CHRIST clearly STATES "IF GOD WERE YOUR FATHER" or was theirs etc "Ye WOULD LOVE ME"...
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Here HE is frustrated for His words are foreign to them...and they can't even begin to understand because they have NOT BURIED His WORD in their HEARTS, MINDS, and SOUL...so their Idea of who HE is takes dominance over the words he speaks...But All Jesus is Doing is breaking their perceptions of what they have learned and became to understand of who He is...Hence HE HAS TO ASK THIS...
43 WHY DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND MY SPEECH? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father THE DEVIL, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a Murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is NO truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his OWN: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 AND BECAUSE I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, ye believe me not.
AGAIN, one of which probably plotted against him to cast a stone at her...states WHICH of YOU CONVINCETH me of SIN....He is not worried for they are not of His Kingdom but a worker of Iniquity...because v47 clearly states as well as John 10 His sheep know His voice...see ...breaking it down...this one was thinking and judging GOD HE had sinned...think of it Which of you convinceth me of sin? and JESUS is simply Calling them out on it...and saying explain yourself...but the pervious verse clearly why they believe so...
46 Which of you CONVINCETH me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
So now they are calling him a "Samaritan" one with which the Jews have no dealings with...and says he has a devil...NOW God created them to worship Him...they are talking to him thinking they are perfectly right and sound and they are going to Heaven once they get rid of this guy...as John 16 states...they think they are doing God a justice...by asking all these question and they don't like the TRUTH ONE BIT...for it breaks their perceptions of life as they know it...it forces them to deal with their own understandings...Jesus Challenges them without challenging them...then He tells the truth and that they DISHONOUR him WHO IS THEIR MESSIAH...then in V52 they declare HE has a DEVIL and affirm it...NOw they are looking at the GOD who created such as Lucifer and cast him out as so as I have thought as in Isaiah 14...and they have the audacity to tell him he has one of the fallen...Now who do you think their father is for it is a LIE...v44 .."for he is a liar, and the father of it."...Ya gotta study Him and know Him...Glory to the HIGHEST for He is perfect above ALL!!! Glory to GOD! Hallelujah! Amen! and Amen!
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
V50 is a great ponder...and a good one for His Creation to seek Him OUT it is another God Statement...it will come later...
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
52 Then said the Jews unto him, NOW WE KNOW THAT THOU HAS A DEVIL. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself
Now who are these JEWS telling the GREAT I AM...that they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he has a devil...they couldn't understand the idea of the New Covenant...which was the fulfilling of the Law the first covenant...whish is what v51 means...
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; OF WHOM YE SAY, THAT HE IS YOUR GOD:
55 Yet ye have not known him; BUT I KNOW HIM: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
NOW Jesus MOVES on and brings the WORDS so STRONG...and pays them literally no mind...Because HE THEN tells THEM what ABRAHAM did when HE SAW HIS DAY...they don't even know the father Abraham...and they get so stupid with their unbelief...and be foolish and demeaning in the natural facts and say as in v57...Then He says VERILY, VERILY, I say unto YOU, BEFORE AMBRAHAM WAS, I AM.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art NOT yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
THIS was not an easy road for JESUS CHRIST, had to deal with such nonsense...and such ignorance...when you know all matters and so forth...
58 Jesus said unto them, VERILY, VERILY, I SAY UNTO YOU, BEFORE ABRAHAM WAS, I AM.
THEN they finally took up stones to cast at HIM which was their very purpose to begin with with the woman taken in adultery...Why do ye seek to KILL ME?...It is so true...for everything God states is true THEN THEY fulfilled it with their actions...
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.
2 Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.
3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.
5 For neither did his brethren believe in him.
6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.
7 The world cannot hate you; BUT ME IT HATEH, because I TESTIFY OF IT, that the works THEREOF ARE EVIL.
Because He declares the truth of the world and more...and the ways of the flesh which wars against the soul ...therefore bring the flesh under subjection to Christ so by the Holy Ghost Your soul can thrive.
8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come.
9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.
10 But when his brethren were gone up, THEN HE WENT also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in SECRET.
11 Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for SOME SAID, He is a good man: OTHERS SAID, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
Always people have their opinions, the fruit shows the in deepness of their minds...ones which could see He is a good man have great sight, but the Others were quicker to be blinded and deceiveth themselves...HENCE THE JEWS feared Him because there was none ever like Him and none could compare to Him to rule the people in their sect...see...all about control of the idea of a man's eye...NOT GOD's Eye nor His understanding...for HOWBEIT no one would speak Openly of Him due to the fear...for HE CAME UNTO HIS OWN and they KNEW HIM NOT...John 1:10-11

Here it evident the jews about were thinking of killing him...for the response of the people was not in the realm of which He SPOKE to...see....Otherwise they would not have said this in v20
20 The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; ARE YE ANGRY AT ME, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
24 JUDEGE NOT ACCORDING TO THE APPEARANCE, BUT JUDGE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT.
FOR when he Spake as so it challenges their very way of thought and how they live...to the core...and then some of the sect of the people knew by the rumors...and they spoke of what and who He was addressing though they were silent...He would NOT BE SILENT...of their intents...and the confirmation is in v25 for they thinking on such...
25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
26 But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
Even today...the blindness is in greatness...

He scares them and forces them to see a better way and a new dimension of life...then they seek to kill him v30...LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN ... be honest before God in words, deeds and thoughts before all...so by His name you GAIN...for He will bring it out so YOU CAN see...and He does it with a boldness and confidence for by Him we Overcome the curse of this world...

31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
Now Paul who was Saul was a Chief Priests...for he was blind, who was and became Apostle Paul...
33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.
34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
They didn't understand he meant his fleshly body which walked on the earth and it the utmost holiest place and most subliming powerful place ... ONLY GOD no human could contain...then the Jews thinking they are so smart and knowing slanting him to be an idiot of which He knows not of what He speaks when in fact He DID for He is GOD...but the ego of the place in society ruined and polluted them from seeing God's plan...and their society became their God for they Knew NOT it was GOD in the Flesh before them...such as so their righteousness is as filthy rags and cannot edify that refuse to seek Him OUT and find that their traditions and ways of life...and their control...so God brought more than they could handle or control...and He called and cried OUT things as though they were...
35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
For He was calling things as though they were...
40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
43 So there was a division among the people because of him.
44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
As they denounce their belief in CHRIST to their face in the self righteousness which Is no avail...so they would not lose their so called power in there society....then they accuse them and tell the officers they are cursed because they KNOW NOT the LAW in verse 49....
48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
Now Nicodemus, but he came to him by night, was which He revealed and SPOKE all of JOHN 3...was Nicodemus a swine? NOT SO...but the Pharisees belittled Nicodemus...but he stood up for HIM...for he knew...HENCE why JESUS CHRIST said Matthew 5:17-20
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, THAT EXCEPT YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL EXCEED THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
See you must overcome such ways of life and beware of when either by the ways of peer pressures of the world or of the other...because it is a personal walk...NOW Nicodemus was NOT blind to this fact...He knew none of them or they philosophies could save his soul...but the Power He felt from Jesus for He was indeed called as Jesus Clarifies and confirms on John 6 prior...but he still had a choice...and he stood for him and didn't bend ...

51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

They didn't understand he meant his fleshly body which walked on the earth and it the utmost holiest place and most subliming powerful place ... ONLY GOD no human could contain...then the Jews thinking they are so smart and knowing slanting him to be an idiot of which He knows not of what He speaks when in fact He DID for He is GOD...but the ego of the place in society ruined and polluted them from seeing God's plan...and their society became their God for they Knew NOT it was GOD in the Flesh before them...such as so their righteousness is as filthy rags and cannot edify that refuse to seek Him OUT and find that their traditions and ways of life...and their control...so God brought more than they could handle or control...and He called and cried OUT things as though they were...
35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
For He was calling things as though they were...
40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
43 So there was a division among the people because of him.
44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
As they denounce their belief in CHRIST to their face in the self righteousness which Is no avail...so they would not lose their so called power in there society....then they accuse them and tell the officers they are cursed because they KNOW NOT the LAW in verse 49....
48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
Now Nicodemus, but he came to him by night, was which He revealed and SPOKE all of JOHN 3...was Nicodemus a swine? NOT SO...but the Pharisees belittled Nicodemus...but he stood up for HIM...for he knew...HENCE why JESUS CHRIST said Matthew 5:17-20
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, THAT EXCEPT YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL EXCEED THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
See you must overcome such ways of life and beware of when either by the ways of peer pressures of the world or of the other...because it is a personal walk...NOW Nicodemus was NOT blind to this fact...He knew none of them or they philosophies could save his soul...but the Power He felt from Jesus for He was indeed called as Jesus Clarifies and confirms on John 6 prior...but he still had a choice...and he stood for him and didn't bend ...
50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)
51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?
52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
53 And every man went unto his own house.
